SBTi Net-Zero Standard 2.0 in Detail:
What Companies Need to Know Now

Thursday, July 16, 2026 | 11:00 a.m. | 60 minutes | free webinar

With the publication of the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard Version 2.0 in June 2026, the Science Based Targets initiative is fundamentally advancing its framework for science-based climate targets.

This raises important questions for companies: What changes will there be for existing or planned SBTi targets? What new requirements apply to near-term and net-zero targets? And how must carbon footprint assessments, Scope 3 data, action planning, and internal responsibilities work together in the future?

Together with EQS, we’ll break down the key changes in the standard and highlight the practical implications for climate strategy and corporate climate management.

From Climate Goals to Robust Implementation

The SBTi Net-Zero Standard 2.0 places greater emphasis on the actual implementation of emissions reductions. In addition to setting targets, measuring progress, governance, rebaselining, and a transparent action plan are becoming increasingly important.

Therefore, companies must do more than just set ambitious climate goals. They also need to:

  • a reliable greenhouse gas inventory for Scope 1, 2, and 3,
  • clear roles and responsibilities,
  • realistic reduction measures,
  • consistent progress tracking, as well as
  • appropriate processes for regularly reviewing and updating their goals.

In this webinar, we'll show how companies can take a pragmatic approach to addressing these requirements and strategically develop their existing structures.
