About Your Role

As a Business Operations Intern at Five Glaciers Consulting, you’ll gain deep insights into the internal structures and processes of a rapidly growing consulting firm in the sustainability sector. You’ll work closely with the two founders and be actively involved in strategic and operational matters.

Your responsibilities are varied and may include the following areas, depending on your interests and skills:

• Support with day-to-day operations, such as quotation processes, CRM maintenance, research, and internal coordination
• Helping to design and optimize internal processes (e.g., project management, quality assurance, knowledge management)
• Preparation of decision-making documents, presentations, and operational analyses for senior management
• Planning and facilitating strategy and team-building initiatives
• Contributing to business development and external communications (e.g., LinkedIn, website, networking events)
• Assistance in analyzing regulatory developments and their operational implications for the company

Based on your interests and knowledge, we offer you the opportunity to get to know sustainability consulting from strategy development to implementation. You will take on the following diverse tasks:

• You will work on the creation of ESG, decarbonization and climate strategies, including the development of digital solutions for strategy implementation.
• You will develop market analyses, benchmark analyses and innovative business models in the areas of climate management.
• Analysis of regulatory requirements for non-financial reporting, including materiality analyses.
• Collection of sustainability KPIs for the preparation of sustainability reports and non-financial statements in the context of the CSRD & GHG Protocol.
• You support the team in implementing measures to improve and further develop the topic of sustainability.
• You will help to draw up carbon footprints and support the development and implementation of measures.

• You are already in your Master's degree or in the last two semesters of a Bachelor's degree program with a corresponding focus
• Ideally initial practical experience and theoretical knowledge in the field of sustainability and/or climate change, initial experience in project management is an advantage
• Confident handling of common IT applications, in particular MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Very good analytical skills, quick perception and creative thinking as well as independent work and team spirit
• Very good communication skills in German and English
• Interest in both sustainability issues and consulting

Based on your interests and knowledge, you will learn about sustainability strategies in the areas of climate protection and ESG and take on the following diverse tasks:

• You will support our consulting projects on topics such as the EU taxonomy, CSRD (reporting framework), climate management and sustainable supply chains.
• You analyze overarching organizational structures, regulatory requirements and implications for sustainability strategies and goals.
• You will help the team to carry out tasks in consulting projects and communicate with our clients.
• In the area of climate management, you will help with the balancing of greenhouse gases and support the development of reduction strategies.
• You implement strategies and support the development of sustainable non-financial reporting.
• You will be involved in your own company development, e.g. by analyzing markets, developing consulting offers and cooperating with our large network in the sustainability world.

• You are enrolled in the fields of economics, engineering, natural sciences or social sciences, ideally with a focus on sustainability, sustainable finance, climate, circular economy or human rights.
• Ideally, you have some practical experience in the field of sustainability or in start-ups from internships and/or working student activities.
• Basic knowledge of common standards and requirements (e.g. CSRD, GRI, GHG protocol, EU taxonomy and/or others) is a plus.
• Confident handling of the common MS Office applications.
• You have a very good command of German and English.
• You want to have an impact on the sustainability of companies.
