Starting December 30, 2025, the EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Supply Chains (EUDR) will apply to all large and medium-sized enterprises, and starting June 30, 2026, it will also apply to SMEs. Small and medium-sized enterprises must also comply with the requirements starting in mid-2026.
Among other things, you will need geographic data on production areas, risk analyses of regions of origin, information on legality, supplier communication, and an internal due diligence system. Digital tools (e.g., Substain, osapiens HUB) can make implementation more efficient—but they are not mandatory.
That depends on your current situation. Initial assessments and target scenarios can be completed in a matter of weeks. For full implementation (including system setup, supplier integration, and, if necessary, software integration), you should expect it to take several months, depending on the complexity.
