Paul is an Associate Consultant at Five Glaciers Consulting and assists clients with calculating corporate carbon footprints, preparing sustainability reports, and developing impact-driven ESG strategies. He brings to the table in-depth expertise in environmental science, human-environment interactions, and climate governance.

Paul earned his master’s degree from the renowned Wageningen University & Research in Environmental Science, specializing in Human-Environment Interactions. His thesis examined the acceptance of land-use practices that promote biodiversity in Estonian protected areas. Even during his bachelor’s program, he focused on global land and water management systems, conducting research on biological approaches to addressing marine environmental issues in the Caribbean region.

Before joining Five Glaciers, Paul gained practical experience in roles such as a sustainability management intern at TeamViewer and a research assistant in the environmental toxicology laboratories at Wageningen University. In his current role at Five Glaciers, he contributes to carbon footprint assessments, scenario analyses, and CSRD-compliant reporting—particularly in industrial and technology-driven sectors.

With his international background, analytical approach, and strong environmental awareness, Paul is known for providing data-driven yet practical sustainability consulting.

Paulin is an Associate Consultant at Five Glaciers Consulting and helps companies integrate sustainability into their financial management processes—from ESG data structures to impact measurement. Her focus is on bridging the gap between traditional financial management and modern sustainability requirements.

Before joining Five Glaciers, Paulin gained nearly two years of experience in corporate and sustainability controlling at Jenoptik. There, she was involved in developing sustainability metrics, internal reporting processes, and strategic cost management.

Her academic background in economics, with a focus on finance, controlling, and strategy (B.Sc. & M.Sc., Friedrich Schiller University of Jena), as well as a focus on sustainability at the University of Stavanger (Erasmus Master’s program), provides her with a solid foundation for integrating financial and non-financial management.

Paulin views sustainability as a business necessity—data-driven, pragmatic, and strategically sound. At Five Glaciers, she draws on her expertise to establish ESG reporting processes, analyze GHG inventories, and develop management tools that make impact measurable.

Florian is a Senior Consultant at Five Glaciers Consulting and helps companies leverage sustainability as a strategic management tool. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Strategic Sustainability Management, he combines analytical precision with a deep understanding of ESG issues and regulatory frameworks.

Before joining the consulting industry, Florian spent over nine years at the BMW Group—most recently in the CO₂ Strategy division, where he focused on Scope 3 emissions during the operational phase of vehicle fleets as well as sustainability reporting. Prior to that, he earned his Ph.D. in inductive charging systems and published several scientific papers and patents on electromobility, battery safety, and energy systems. He complements his engineering expertise with practical knowledge of corporate and product carbon footprints, climate risk analyses, and transition plans in accordance with SBTi, the GHG Protocol, CSRD, and the EU Taxonomy.

Florian studied electrical engineering at TU Wien (Bachelor’s degree) and TU Munich (Master’s degree), and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wuppertal. While working, he completed a Master’s degree in Strategic Sustainability Management at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. Additional certifications, notably as an SBTI Certified Expert for the SBTi Corporate Near-Term & Corporate Net-Zero Standards, round out his comprehensive expertise in the field of climate strategies.

In his work, he combines entrepreneurial pragmatism with academic rigor—with the goal of translating regulatory requirements into real drivers of transformation and generating measurable impact.

Kevin is a co-founder and managing director of Five Glaciers Consulting, where he oversees the firm’s strategic direction and the development of its consulting services. His focus is on developing scientifically grounded sustainability strategies that strengthen business resilience, meet regulatory requirements, and unlock economic potential.Before founding Five Glaciers, Kevin worked as a senior consultant for ESG and climate strategies at Planetly and as a project manager at GFC Green Finance Corporation in the areas of climate protection and energy balances. Other roles took him into the impact investing and SaaS sectors—always with a clear focus on sustainable transformation, impact orientation, and strategy development.

Kevin brings in-depth expertise in the areas of climate strategy, ESG software, and reporting. He is a Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist (CSRS), a TÜV-certified environmental protection officer, and an Approved EcoVadis Partner. As an active member of the European VSME community, he specializes in helping small and medium-sized enterprises implement ESRS requirements in a pragmatic and forward-looking manner.

His academic background includes a master’s degree in Business & Development Studies from Copenhagen Business School, as well as international assignments in Australia, Mexico, and Germany. Kevin advocates an approach that views sustainability not as an end in itself, but as a strategic necessity. Together with his team, he aims to make companies not only compliant with regulations but also future-proof—in a way that is measurable, effective, and credible.

Luka is a Senior Consultant at Five Glaciers Consulting and supports companies, particularly at the intersection of sustainability strategy, EU regulations, and social impact. Her focus is on implementing effective sustainability measures across global value chains—from biodiversity to climate reporting.

Before joining Five Glaciers, Luka worked as a Blue Book trainee at the European Commission, where she gained experience in shaping EU sustainability policies with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. Prior to that, she worked in the maritime industry at ZeroNorth in Copenhagen, where she helped develop partnerships aimed at decarbonizing the shipping sector.

Other positions include roles at Accenture and Dialogue One, as well as various project and research assignments focusing on biodiversity, electric mobility, and the circular economy.

Luka has an interdisciplinary academic background: she studied Business and Sustainability at Leuphana University of Lüneburg and International Development and Business Studies at Roskilde University. She has also taken courses at Copenhagen Business School focusing on the circular economy, innovation, and climate resilience.

With analytical depth and a systemic perspective on sustainability, Luka views transformation not only as a management task but also as a social responsibility. Her goal is to shape change in a way that is both evidence-based and practical.

Madleen is a Communications Associate at Five Glaciers Consulting and supports the team with external communications, content creation, and visual branding. Her areas of expertise include online marketing, graphic design, and tailoring sustainability topics to specific audiences—from LinkedIn posts to website components.

In addition to her current role, Madleen is pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree in online marketing at IU International University of Applied Sciences. Her previous experience in internal corporate communications and sustainability project management gave her early insights into strategic positioning processes and the integration of corporate values into brand communications.

At Five Glaciers, she is responsible for the editorial and visual production of content related to climate, the environment, and social transformation. Thanks to her creative and organizational skills, she is able to present complex topics in a clear, aesthetically pleasing, and accessible way.

With creativity, curiosity, and a keen sense of language and design, Madleen creates communication that makes an impact—substantive and visually compelling.

Merlin is Co-CEO and Managing Partner at Five Glaciers Consulting. With an interdisciplinary background in environmental science, applied mathematics, and sustainability consulting, he brings scientific depth and analytical precision to the strategic guidance of companies on their path to climate neutrality.

Before co-founding Five Glaciers, Merlin worked for several years at the Boston Consulting Group—most recently as a consultant specializing in sustainability strategies, climate reporting, and project management. In this role, he advised global companies on developing impact-driven sustainability programs. As a mathematician with a Ph.D. and research experience in Japan and New Zealand, he also brings extensive methodological expertise—such as in modeling complex systems and ecological interactions.

Merlin’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and an M.Sc. in Environmental Systems & Resource Management (both with honors) from the University of Osnabrück, as well as a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Greifswald. In addition, he is a certified Sustainability Reporting Professional (GRI) and holds an Executive Certificate in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) from RWTH Aachen University.

Merlin’s consulting services combine strategy, science, and impact: from robust GHG inventories and company-wide decarbonization pathways to the integration of regulatory requirements (e.g., CSRD, GHG Protocol, LCA). Its goal is to view sustainability not as an isolated measure, but as a systemic management task—robust, scalable, and effective in the long term.

Sonia is an Associate Consultant at Five Glaciers Consulting and supports projects at the intersection of corporate strategy, sustainability regulation, and international management. With her diverse experience in finance, compliance, M&A, and investment management, she brings a practical perspective to ESG issues and data-driven sustainability decisions.

Before joining Five Glaciers, Sonia gained professional experience at organizations such as BDO, Scalable Capital, and ONEtoONE Corporate Finance, working in Hamburg, Munich, and Medellín, Colombia. There, she worked in the Forensic & Risk division, assisted with investment analyses, and gained firsthand experience with business valuation and risk assessment processes.

Sonia is currently pursuing a master’s degree in “International Business Administration and Sustainability” at the University of Hamburg. Prior to that, she completed her bachelor’s degree in “Global Management” at Bremen University of Applied Sciences, including study abroad semesters in Italy and Colombia.

Thanks to her international background, academic excellence (a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.2), and practical experience, Sonia brings a deep understanding of business transformation to the table. She views sustainability as an economic challenge—and aims to support companies in pursuing this path in a professional and impact-driven manner.

Stefan is a consultant at Five Glaciers Consulting, specializing in carbon management, ESG data analysis, and the automation of complex sustainability data processes. With his background in business informatics and his deep expertise in statistics, data modeling, and programming, he brings a data-driven perspective to climate consulting.

For over 18 months, Stefan has been assisting clients with the development and quality assurance of corporate and product carbon footprints in accordance with the GHG Protocol and the PCAF Standard. He plays a key role in the development of internal data pipelines, the standardization of emissions data, and the automation of analysis and reporting processes. In addition, he develops tools for data-driven sustainability decisions and scenario analyses.

Previously, Stefan worked at Klima.Metrix and shyftplan in ESG data processing and business intelligence. At the same time, he independently carried out data-driven visualization projects on climate, inequality, energy poverty, and transportation—using tools such as Python, R, Tableau, D3.js, and Figma.

Stefan studied business informatics at the Technical University of Berlin, bringing together economic, technological, and analytical perspectives on sustainability. His goal is to use data to make complex sustainability issues understandable, manageable, and strategically actionable.

Pia is an Associate Consultant on the Five Glaciers Consulting team and assists clients with creating corporate carbon footprints, implementing CSRD requirements, and developing ESG strategies. Her interdisciplinary background in logistics, mobility, and industrial engineering gives her a practical perspective on sustainability across global value chains.

Previously, Pia gained experience at Viafuturum in the field of ESG strategy consulting, with a focus on the CSRD, as well as at Tchibo in supply chain management—specifically in inbound logistics. In these roles, she gained insight into both the operational perspective of companies and the requirements of modern sustainability regulations.

Pia studied industrial engineering with a focus on logistics and mobility at the Technical University of Hamburg. During her time as a student, she was also active in the student council and volunteered for several years as a camp counselor.

With her analytical mindset, structured approach, and strong commitment to sustainability, Pia aims to help companies meet regulatory requirements and build a strategically sustainable future.
